The Dwell Hotel is a renovation of a three story brick and limestone building built in 1909 located in downtown Chattanooga. With a few exceptions the building has been a used primarily as a hotel throughout its life, most recently housing the Stone Fort Inn and Terra Mae restaurant. The new owner looked to rebrand giving the hotel new life with an interior facelift while preserving the historic character of the building.
Our team worked closely and hands on with the hotel’s interior design team, local Contractors and several specialty craftsmen to help realize the owner’s unique and quirky vision while at the same time meeting a short construction schedule that resulted in a very limited impact on the already thriving hotel and restaurant business.
At approximately 4,500 square foot per floor the renovation included expanding the restaurant kitchen including changes to meet current health department requirements, a complete re-imagining of the hotel bar, new lounge spaces for patrons and guest, and new reception desk on the first floor. The upper two floors contain the hotel’s 16 guest room. Renovation of these floors included combining two guest rooms on each floor into executive suites, completely reworking the guest bathrooms, new house keeping and services areas as well as implementation of modern guest security and access controls. Significant upgrades where also made to the buildings electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems to provide for a modern and comfortable hotel experience.
